The notion of e-paper has been around for a long time, but perhaps there is new progress.

Epson E-Paper.

The Sci Fi Tech folks report the following:”Epson has developed new 7.1-inch piece of electronic paper that’s bendable and has a very respectable resolution of 1,536 x 2,048 pixels.

Electronic paper is a thin material that acts as an electronic display, allowing for text and graphics to be displayed just like a screen, but with the image remaining when it’s powered off…”

Assistive Media logo.  Just bumped into this remarkable collection.

Assistive Media appears to be the result of the work and commitment of a range of volunteers. It features podcast-ready audio recordings from a wide range of leading American magazines and newspapers, including Wired, Vanity Fair, the Washington Post and the New York Times.

For those in New Zealand, there’s a new way to meet some up-and-coming innovators. The Let’s Get Inventin’ series, screening on Television New Zealand’s TV2 channel on Sunday at 5.30pm (and repeated on Saturdays at 9.30am), features a incredible range of creative ideas from young people. Well worth viewing.

They were developed to support a science program called Science Explorer © 2005.

ForgeFX advises that the 10 sample projects available represent close to 100 interactive simulations and visualisations.
